Facilities

Interact with other lost beings of other dimensions at the basecamp of the tower. Some of them will share stories, others have set up shop selling goods to adventurers brave enough to venture up the Tower.

The Blacksmith

The Blacksmith can craft you new weapons and armor to make your chance of survival better. It's always wise to upgrade your gear before entering the Tower if you have the materials for it.

The Collector

Sell all your unwanted and weird materials to the Collector. They are always interested in adding a rare item to their collection or finding ways to use monster parts.

The Cook

Something smells delicous! The Cook always has something tasty to offer. See if they can make you new foods that will enhance your abilities or restore your health.

The Teacher

A wise and mysterious being that has the knowledge and wisdom to teach you many new skills. Offer your boss tokens to them in exchange to learn new powerful techniques to take down foes in the tower.

The Accessorisor

Looking for an extra charm? Talk to the accessorisor to get some extra firepower. Perhaps they can increase your damage, defense, or give you something to jump a little higher.

The Tower Gaurd

When you are ready to climb up the tower talk to the Tower's Gaurd.

Exploration

In the tower you will find monsters and puzzles. It is expected that you will run into trouble along the way and when you do it's a good idea to return to basecamp to rest, restock on items, and upgrade your gear.

Each time you enter the tower the floors change so expect to see familiar puzzles on different floors or totally new floors with different challenges.

As you explore the tower the difficulty raises with each new section. Puzzles will get harder and so will the enemies you face. You can expect each section to finish with a big boss!

Getting to the Next Floor

While climbing the tower each floor has a portal to the next. These portals will usually be locked behind an objective of the floor. They may require you to defeat enemies, solve a puzzle, or simply find it.

Defeat the Monsters

Some levels will require you to defeat all the monsters on it. Should be easy, right?

Switches

You will encounter switches on some floors. The sequence to unlocking the portal with these switches is sometimes set or random so try out different combinations. The switches may also be across the whole level.

Timer

Some doors simply won't open until the timer has ended. Hope you survive.

Toll Guard

Believe it or not the tower is operated by mysterious forces. Just like the guard that let you in, you may encounter a toll gaurd in front of the next portal. You will need to pay the fee in order to pass. Usually you can find the terms of payment on the floor itself.

Darkness

Some floors are completely dark making it much more harder to navigate. There should be something you can do about this.

Gameplay

Choose your Play Style!

PartyQuest offers 3 different styles of play: Sword & Shield, Magic Tome, and the Bow & Arrow.

Sword & Shield

The sword and shield is for the person who wants to get up in the enemies face and mash physical damage.

Using your sword to attack enemies builds your charge meter. When you gain enough charge you can unleash skills to take down your foes or help your team mates.

The Sword & Shield provides you with the unique ability "Gaurd" to block attacks. This prevents any damage done to you from regular enemies. However some of the toughest enemies may still leave a mark so be careful when using it.

The Magic Tome

The magic tome is for people who wish to deal damage in the elements. They also possess the ability to deal area damage to more enemies. Beware tho, magic users tend to have far less defense than those of the sword and shield.

Using the Magic Tome you are able to use the "Focus" special ability. This allows you to recharge your magic on command. Becareful not to get hit by enemies while doing this.

Bow & Arrow

The bow is for those who wish to move fast and deal damage from afar while still having decent defense. They also possess unique skills for dealing with enemies.

While having a bow can make close encounters cumbersome you can use your special ability "Knockback" to send enemies flying back so you can fire at them again.

Additionally your skills work a little different. Your special meter continues to charge at all times and when full allows you to execute a single skill at a time.

Controller VS Keyboard

PQ was designed two support 2 play styles: pure keyboard and the game pad. There is no mouse support.

For some specific actions in the game there should be in game prompts for the controls to use. For other commands please refer to the controls below.

Multiplayer

Exploring the tower can be quite treacherous so be sure to bring friends along for the ride!

PartyQuest supports multiplayer with up to 4 players online. While playing in multiplayer mode you retain any items you pickup and buy. If you disconnect you will continue to keep playing in offline mode.

Support for Internet and Local play is available.

Via Internet

To connect to a friend over the Internet you must use a centralized server provided by Tomisoft and must have an Internet Connection. NAT hole punching is used connect together through the match making sever. If you encounter unusal errors during your attempts your network firewall or ISP may be causing issues.

Via Local Play

Support to play locally requires a IPv6 supported network router with WiFi or Ethernet. IPv6 is widely supported, but may be disabled on your network. Please check this if you run into any issues.
